The Northern Marianas Judiciary Historical Society, a non-profit corporation, has expanded to Tinian and Rota its campaign to provide essential school supplies to needy public school students.

Under the Historical Society’s 2009 Ta Fan Eskuela (Let’s Go To School) campaign, school supplies will be distributed to the CNMI’s 12 elementary schools, including Tinian Elementary School and Sinapalo Elementary School on Rota.

Historical Society executive director Gin Gridley said yesterday that, although the program started benefiting students solely on Saipan, they have expanded the campaign to Tinian and Rota.

“Each school will be receiving 10 bags stocked with essential school supplies from the Historical Society. The school principal will then be responsible for determining the 10 children from their school who would most benefit from the donation,” Gridley said.

The Historical Society will launch this year’s campaign at the Gregorio T. Camacho School today, Wednesday, at 12pm.

The Historical Society started the Ta Fan Eskuela campaign in 2001 with the goal of providing essential school supplies to needy public school students.

“Our children attend school with a strong desire to learn, and everyone deserves to learn without worrying about their basic school needs being met. Thank you for your support in assisting CNMI students in learning and flourishing intellectually,” Gridley said.

Gridley may be contacted at 236-9715 or at gin.gridley@justice.gov.mp if anyone wants to get more information about the program.
