Ol’Aces edges Quichocho Law Office in BANMI
Ol’Aces blew an early lead but rallied in the final stretch en route to a morale-boosting 100-96 victory over Quichocho Law Office in the 2008-2009 BANMI/Budweiser Basketball League Friday night at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
Mike Olaitiman scored eight of Ol’Aces’ total 20 points in the first quarter to spearhead his team a 20-17 lead.
After that, he failed to score the rest of the way and Ol’Aces fell behind by two points at halftime, 44-46, and by four points at the end of the third quarter, 73-77.
Freddie Pelisamen, Elias Rangmar, Peter Camcho, and Gabriel White stepped up for the upset-conscious Ol’Aces, who rallied back in the fourth quarter to win.
Pelisamen was scoreless in the first quarter before catching fire in the next three periods to lead the Ol’Aces with 33 points, including nine in the free throw line.
Lizama scored five in the first, two in the second, and eight in the third but he was scoreless in the fourth for a total of 15 points. Rangamar finished with 11, while White and Camacho had nine each.
Bonbon Cadagat led Quichocho Law Office with his 22 points, including four hits from 3-point range.
Leo Itaas scattered 19 points, while Edmark Mendoza and Larry Palero chipped in 14 and 11, respectively, for Quichocho Law Office.
That win snapped their two-game losing skid following a 2-0 start. The team is now 2-3.
