A masked man armed with a Taser robbed a store in As Lito Thursday morning.

No one was reported hurt during the robbery at Kanda Market, but the suspect ran off with a still undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect was described as wearing a black mask and black clothing. He was about 5’7” tall and medium built.

A Taser is an electroshock or stun gun.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson Lei Ogumoro said yesterday that police officers responded to the store after receiving a call about the incident at 10:22am.

Preliminary investigation showed that a masked man entered Kanda Market, located southeast of the New Happy Market, pointed a black Taser at the 29-year-old female cashier and demanded money.

The robber then pulled out the cash register, which contained an undetermined amount of money and assorted phone cards.

The suspect then ran outside and headed north. Police later recovered the cash register in a jungle area north of the store.

“The case is under further investigation,” Ogumoro said.

The NMI Crime Stoppers Program is offering up to $1,000 cash reward to anyone who can provide information that will lead to an arrest.
