MIFICPA to induct 2009 officers today

The Marianas Institute of Filipino CPAs and Accountants will hold the induction rites for its 2009 set of officers and board members at the Filipino Workers’ Resource Center in Marianas Plaza (formerly Nauru Building) tonight, Jan. 24, beginning 7pm.

Inductees are Melvin Malvar of Tropex Garden Co., president; Rene Cariaso of Century Insurance Co., vice president for external affairs; Robert Reyes of Century Insurance, vice president for internal affairs; Aileen Indino of Grant Thornton LLP, secretary; Donna Paleracio of Joeten Enterprises, assistant secretary; Ronnel Calma of Car Quest, treasurer; Cristy Villaflor of Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan, assistant treasurer; Bebilyn Estrada of Century Insurance, auditor; Nolito Santos of Marpac, business manager; Marlon Estigoy of Hafadai Beach Hotel, public relations officer; and Irene Santiago of Shirley’s Coffee Shop, Loise Manese of Joeten Ace Hardware, Aileen Javier of Hardt Eye Clinic, Marie Luisa Taniegra of RNV Construction, and Jhocelyn Doreza of Burger & Comer PC CPA, board members.

Philippine Consul General Wilfredo D.L. Maximo will administer the oath for MIFICPA 2009 officers and directors.

Glicerio “Eli” Arago, senior vice president of Tan Holdings Corp., will be the keynote speaker, with this year’s theme, “MIFICPA Upholding Professionalism, Commitment, and Service.”

This year’s theme is a challenge for all Filipino CPAs and accountants to be at the cutting edge and participate in MIFICPA’s activities and learn the changing trends of the profession.

MIFICPA is inviting all Filipino CPAs and accountants in the CNMI to become active members and be part of the realization of the organization’s vision and mission
