IT&E Voyagers, Team SCS grab 8-Ball lead

(Contributed Photo) Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s IT&E-Voyagers and Team SCS are now the frontrunners in Saipan Billiards Association’s 2012 Summer/Winter Budweiser Open 8-Ball League after last Tuesday’s games.

The IT&E-Voyagers mowed down Obyan’s Poksu (59-128), 13-4, in an inter-league road match held at 19th Hole Bar & Grill to improve its overall record to 142-45 and steal the top spot in the Agingan division from Poseidon’s Docomo Pacific-Home Boyz.

However, the IT&E Voyagers cling to the top spot by just a game against Poseidon’s Docomo Pacific-Home Boyz (141-46), who bested the fourth place IT&E-Incredibles (117-70), 10-7, at home,

In the Obyan division, Team SCS bested former front runner Fotten Palau (91-96), 12-5, on the road to move into first place with an overall card of 93-94.

In other results, Joe’s Steakhouse’s New Saipan Aluminum-Hustlers (131-56) remain in third place after defeating Obyan’s Crazy 8 (89-98), 13-4, in an inter-league match held at Jonny’s, while Joe’s-Ocean Warriors (101-86) gained some ground with a 12-5 road win over Obyan’s Water Front (43-144) crew.

Host team Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill’s Shark Attack (86-101) pulled off a 10-7 upset against 19th Hole’s Titans (90-97), while Poseidon’s Yang-Ku (84-103) went into Bammy’s Restaurant Bar & Grill and routed Boom-Boom (42-145), 14-3.
