Making myself clear

I notice that the president of TaoTao Tano is now a business adviser, but what does he have to show to qualify him for that position? His “simple solution” advice to the mayor in regards to the illegal cockfight operators is so pathetic. For an educated person as he claims to be, he should know that the mayor is only following the law as mandated by the Legislature.

I notice that this guy will attack and accuse anyone for his political ambition. And I despise his accusation that the mayor is promoting my business. First of all, I am not the license holder but we do own the facility. The present license holder who won the bid to operate with the option to put up their own facility or do so as they please chose to rent my facility. When the mayor made the statement about the only place authorized to operate a cockpit, he was referring to the license holder and not necessarily our facility. In fact, the present license holder is relocating at the end of the month. This only shows that the mayor is not in control. For his information, my facility was built with the intent of continuously bidding for the license. Of course, we lost the bid and the facility became available but it didn’t mean that the winning bidder had to operate at our facility.

While I will not comment on his remarks about the mayor’s activities and investigation, I will not allow him to drag us in the mud for his gratification and it is not fair either to accuse the mayor of such. And I don’t know how it will help those illegal operators should the government designate a land for that purpose. It will be like a “dog-eat-dog” business. Besides, does he really want the government to be in business?

If the Taotao Tano president feels that the $10,000 minimum bid is not adequate, then perhaps he should write to the Legislature to amend it. Frankly, I don’t see anything wrong with the present set up. It is those who choose to operate illegally that are the problem. They have no business operating in the first place. And they know that they are just robbing the present license holder. These guys have all the opportunity to participate in the bid but they chose not to. Who in their right mind will commit tens of thousands of dollars if they can operate it for free because the authorities are not interested in prosecuting? I hope I cleared myself to the Taotao Tano president.
