Si yu’us ma’ase
I want to express my extreme gratitude to the Friends of the Monument who had done a fantastic job and for all their support in making the idea of a Marine Monument possible here in the CNMI. I also would love to say thank you to our leaders for working cooperatively with the federal government in making this wonderful decision. And lastly I want to thank President Bush for this brilliant opportunity to have a Marine Monument.
For the past months there has been much confusion, questions, and arguments about the issue and I’m glad that our local leaders and the federal government are on the same page and can work together to make the best for our economy. I was shocked and at the same time happy to find out that our local leaders support the idea of a monument. I was even happier to hear that President Bush declared the monument. Without all the hard work, community, support, and arguments, this would have never happen.
As we step into a new year we must look into new ways to make the best for our economy. We must work together to make Saipan an enjoyable place to live in and most especially to make a great place for tourist all over the world to visit. Thanks once again to all who took part in this idea.
