NMC to confer 120 degrees to graduates

Northern Marianas College will confer about 120 associate and bachelor degrees during its Spring semester graduation ceremony slated next month.
Based on the preliminary records from the college, most graduating students will come from the associate of arts liberal arts program with 50 potential graduates followed by 18 students graduating with associate in science in nursing.
NMC is also slated to confer diplomas to 15 graduating students from the bachelor of science in elementary education program while seven will complete their associate in applied science criminal justice degrees.
From the associate in arts in business program, seven graduating students will also receive their certificates and diplomas along with nine students under the associate in applied science in business administration with business management emphasis.
From the associate in applied science in business administration accounting emphasis, five students are expected to be conferred their certificates as well as four in the same associate program with computer applications emphasis.
Diplomas and certificates will also be conferred to four potential graduates from associate in science-natural resource management program; two from the associate in applied science-hospitality management; and one certificate of achievement in hospitality management.
The preliminary figures presented above are considered not final as grades for the current semester are up for submission next month. The number of potential graduates does not also include those from the Adult Basic Education program, which will be announced in a later date.
NMC will mark its graduation ceremony on May 19, 4pm, at the Marianas High School Gymnasium. A graduation planning committee has been named by NMC president Sharon Hart to plan all the activities associated with the graduation, including logistics, program, site preparation, and others. Members of the graduation class have also begun meeting to identify and recommend a keynote speaker as well as the theme for the upcoming graduation, Saipan Tribune learned.
