GMS fielded only four of its 6th grade class to the competition, with outstanding results. All four advanced to the semifinal rounds held on April 13 at Chacha Oceanview Junior High School. Two of the four contestants emerged as finalists in the elimination rounds. In the final round, which took place on April 14 at Tanapag Elementary School, one of the two students who reached the final round was hailed a gold winner. Chekaina Viel Coloma go on to participate in the NJFL competition in Indianapolis in June 2012.

Congratulations to Chekaina Viel Coloma, Monica Aira Usi, Ezikiel Alfred, and Mary Grace Briones for another outstanding accomplishment. Thanks and congratulations also to team coach Bona Angeles and NJFL coordinator Ellen Alejo.
