The Division of Environment Quality has declared the waters of Managaha and Tinian islands safe for swimming.

Water samples taken from Tinian’s and Managaha’s beaches and dock as part of routine sampling showed no excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria. DEQ assigns all of the sampled beach sites a green flag.

DEQ analyzed 11 samples from the shores surrounding Managaha and water samples taken from 10 locations on Tinian this week.

Marine Water Quality Reports are also provided at www.deq.gov.mp/section.aspx?secID=4 and http://www.cnmicoralreef.net/wq/beachcloseweeklyresults.htm. To receive email notifications of the reports, send an email to environment@deq.gov.mp.
