Murder charges filed vs 3 teens
The Attorney General’s Office has filed charges against the three teenagers who reportedly killed and robbed a security guard and burglarized some classrooms at Marianas High School in Susupe Tuesday last week.
In the information filed late Monday afternoon, the AGO charged Eric Rabauliman, 18; Edward Blas, 16; and Randy Anthony Igisomar, 16, with murder in the first degree, committed during the perpetration of burglary and/or robbery.
Rabauliman was also charged with two counts of burglary, one count of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon and burglary, two counts of theft, and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Chief prosecutor Kevin A. Lynch said that Blas and Igisomar will also be charged with burglary, theft, and assault with a dangerous weapon in juvenile court because both are only 16 years old.
Lynch said Blas and Igisomar are being charged with murder in adult court because the statute allows the filing of such charges against 16-year-olds involved in a murder case.
In the charging information, Lynch stated that that on or about Nov. 17 or 18, 2008, Rabauliman, Blas, and Igisomar killed Efren Lagua Ballesteros “with malice aforethought, during the perpetration or attempted perpetration of burglary and or robbery.”
The Superior Court imposed no bail for the three defendants.
Preliminary hearing is set for today, Wednesday, at 9am before associate judge Ramona V. Manglona.
Rabauliman, Igisomar, and Blas, all students at MHS, were arrested by police last week.
Police say Igisomar and Rabauliman have confessed to the crime, saying that they attacked the security guard with a piece of wood, a PVC pipe, and a rebar before breaking into several classrooms at MHS where they stole laptops and money.
Ballesteros, 45, was found dead at MHS campus in Susupe last Tuesday morning. Ballesteros’ wallet containing $300 cash and a wristwatch were reportedly stolen.
