Jon Eparwa already has a turkey for Thanksgiving, while Emi Williams completed a back-to-back in the November Budweiser King and Queen of the Lanes Bowling Tournament last Monday at the Saipan Bowling Center in Oleai.

Eparwa won for the first time in the monthly tournament since winning the December plum after putting together a four-game series of 786 or 196.5 average in the roll-off’s first day last Sunday.

He started like a house on fire, connecting on 233 pins, but cooled down a bit in the last three games, toppling 197, 189, and a pedestrian 167.

Percy Omechalang finished 17 pins short of Eparwa’s winning score, tattooing 769 pinfalls following games of 169, 171, 161, and a tourney high 268—good for a 192.25 average.

Classified tourney champ Kitz Barja settled for third place this time, as the Micronesian Brokers, Inc. general manager wound up with 768 and 192 average (180, 218, 168, and 202).

Raul Dumapit (765 and 191.25) and Alex Cacdac (762 and 190.5) complete the Top 5 in the men’s division for the penultimate monthly tilt of the year.

Aside from the turkey, Eparwa also pocketed $100 for the win, while Omechalang and Barja took home $50 and $30, respectively. Omechalang also received a case of Waioka sardines for registering the highest score of the competition.

Over in the women’s side, Williams followed up her October victory by winning the November Queen of the Lanes following a four-game series of 734, good for a 183.5 average.

She strung together games of 171, 204, 195, and 164 to win her third monthly championship of 2008. Williams also topped the contest last January,

Diane Camacho and steadily improving Mhel Regis finished second and third with rolls of 726 (183, 204, 163, and 176) and 720 (180, 175, 189, and 176), respectively.

Williams, Camacho, and Regis received cash prizes of $60, $30, and $20 for their performances with the former also winning a case of beer courtesy of JET Holdings.

Last Sunday, Raphael Zapanta won his eighth Bing Prince of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament.

The November championship follows Zapanta’s victories in the February, March, May, June, July, August, and October editions of the roll-off.

Like the Budweiser King and Queen of the Lanes, the Bing Prince/Princess of the Lanes is sponsored by MARPAC.
