The “King of Beers” is proud to sponsor the King and Queen of the Diamonds Softball Tournament to be held on Palau at Airai Field this coming weekend, Nov. 14 and 15.

Four teams will compete in the two-day round-robin tournament—Saipan’s Shell Marianas, Guam’s Da Boyz, and Palau’s Meyuns and Oldiais.

Shell Marianas, formerly No Ka Oi, has been the reigning champion of the all-Micronesian softball tournament for the past three years.

Teams from Saipan and Guam will receive an all-expense paid trip to Palau compliments of Budweiser to compete in the King and Queen of the Diamonds tournament.

“Budweiser and Shimbros are proud to sponsor this annual softball tournament in Palau. Every year, the spirit of the game is wonderful, the competition is fun and the teamwork is terrific to watch. We would like to thank all our organizers, volunteers, players and our major sponsor, Airai View Hotel and Continental Micronesia, for helping make this year’s tournament a success,” said Ambros Inc. general manager Tom Shimizu.

An exciting part of the tournament is the Home Run Derby where each of the teams are allowed to enter two contestants to see who could hit the most home runs before getting five outs.

The winner will receive $200 cash. At the end of the games, Budweiser will host an awards banquet on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Airai View Hotel.

For their R&R the next day, Nov. 16, all four teams will be treated to an all day Rock Island Tour, as no trip to Palau is complete without a visit to the pristine Rock Islands.

Budweiser supports softball as well as other sports on Guam, Saipan, and Palau. For additional information on Budweiser’s sports programs and sponsorships, visit www.Budweiser.com.

Budweiser is one of the world’s best-selling beers and is sold in more than 80 countries around the world through partnerships with international brewers or through independent distributors. Budweiser is imported and distributed locally by Ambros, Inc., Marpac Distributors, and Shimbros International.

As the best-selling beer on Guam, Saipan, and Palau, Budweiser is associated with high quality, tradition, integrity and, most importantly, responsibility—characteristics that have made it the “King of Beers.” (PR)
