Shell’s V-Power fuel comes to Saipan

Shell has teamed up with Ferrari to come up with the most high-tech fuel yet—a gasoline that actually cleans up your engine of carbon deposits as you use it.
In a launching held Wednesday at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, the Shell Marianas team introduced for the first time on Saipan the V-Power Premium Gasoline, an advanced fuel that cleans an automobile’s engine to provide enhanced engine responsiveness.
Eric G. Holthusen, Fuels Technology Manager for the Asia Pacific & Middle Eastern Region, said that Shell V-Power contains more than five times the amount of cleaning agents required by U.S. federal government standards and meets the auto manufacturer’s Top Tier Gasoline Detergent Standard.
“This allows Shell V-Power to enhance engine responsiveness and helps remove and prevents future deposits on intake valves and fuel injectors,” said Holthusen.
All Shell stations on Saipan will now carry the V-Power fuel, replacing the outlets’ premium grade gasoline supply.
Jeff Boyer, Shell Marianas retail manager and country chair representative, said that V-Power gasoline immediately gets to work on cleaning one’s engine as soon as one starts using this fuel. “It will take about three fill-ups for you to start noticing a change in the responsiveness of your engine,” he said.
Holthusen said that V-Power is the product of the close working relationship between Shell and Ferrari.
“Over the years, Shell and Ferrari have worked closely together in a technical relationship to continually improve the formulation of the fuel they use. Like many great innovations that have started on the track, Shell V-Power is of considerable value to those discerning individuals who want to use that technology on the road for their journey,” he said.
