Notorious burglar Seiichi Aoki was slapped with a one-year prison term over four criminal cases.

After completing the sentence, Seiichi Aoki, 23, a Palauan, will be immediately transferred to the custody of the Commonwealth or federal immigration authorities for deportation.

Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman sentenced Aoki to one year in prison for riot in the first case, and one year in jail for burglary in the second case.

Wiseman ordered the defendant to spend one year in jail each for two counts of violating his probation.

Wiseman said all sentences shall run concurrently. He gave the defendant credit for a total of 177 days he has already served in jail.

The judge said Aoki shall be released from the Department of Corrections on April 14, 2009, to the custody of CNMI or federal immigration authorities for deportation from the CNMI.

Aoki was also required to pay a $100 court assessment fee.

The defendant signed a plea agreement with the government. He entered a guilty plea.

Police said that in May 2008 Aoki was arrested for burglarizing a house on Saipan by entering through the bathroom’s window.

On Sept. 13, 2006, Aoki pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to 30 days in jail. He was placed on three years of probation.

In May 2007, Aoki pleaded guilty to burglary and escape in another case. He was sentenced to 165 days and placed on one-year probation.
