[B]Democratic Party puts off Saturday rally[/B]

The Northern Marianas Democratic Party said the rally and registration drive scheduled for Oct. 18 has been postponed until further notice. “We apologize and thank you for your understanding.” [B][I](PR)[/I][/B] [B] Savings Week proclamation signing[/B]

Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela will sign a mayoral proclamation this Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, to designate the week of Oct. 19 to 25, 2008, as “National Save for Retirement Week” on Saipan.

Tudela acknowledges the cost of retirement continues to rise, in part, and the number of employers providing retiree health coverage continues to decline, and retiree healthcare costs continue to increase at a rapid pace. And many employees may not be aware of retirement savings options and may not have focused on the importance of and need for saving for their own retirement.

The proclamation signing will be at 2pm at the Saipan Mayor’s Office. Retirees and interested residents of Saipan are invited to attend. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B] [B]Breast cancer awareness month proclamation signing[/B]

Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela will sign a mayoral proclamation this Friday, Oct. 17, to designate Oct. 19 to Nov. 16, 2008, as Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Saipan. This is a collaborative effort of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the Mayor of Saipan.

All cancer survivors and their families are invited to attend the proclamation signing ceremony.

The proclamation signing will be at 10am at the Saipan Mayor’s Office. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B] [B]Parents’ meeting at Tinian High[/B]

There will be a parents’ meeting for all parents and legal guardians for Tinian High School students at 3:30pm at the Tinian Youth Center. All parents are urged to attend. Bring a parent to the meeting. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B]
