Goodbye to a friend

It is with great sorrow that I heard about Julian Maglona’s death in the U.S. mainland. I was completely shocked, especially since it was in the course of training. He seemed to be extremely fit.

On my first arrival on Tinian so many years ago, I first met Julian, he was a young cop, and had pulled me over on my first day on Tinian, while I was driving a rental car.

We soon became friends along with his family.

Julian had gone fishing with me many times on my 42” sport fisher, along with ocean trips to Rota and Saipan. We also had made many trips together on his small boat.

Over the years, he and his family have continued to help and offer advice to me and my wife.

Since I am presently off-island at this time I wish to extend my condolences to his family in this time of extreme sorrow. We will remember him in our prayers.

May God speed to a very sincere person who will be missed by all whose lives he has touched.
