JV Eagles seek 8-0 record vs SCS
Grace Christian will aim for its eighth win in as many games in the junior varsity division when it faces Saipan Community in today’s resumption of action in the 2008 Coalition of Private Schools Sports Association Volleyball League.
Game time is set at 3:30pm at the GCA court.
The JV Eagles remained undefeated as swept their first round assignment via a straight set win over defending champion Seventh Day Adventist last Tuesday.
Also playing in today’s start of the second round in the eight-team field middle school division are Saipan International Blue and Calvary Christian. SDA will also meet Whispering Palms at its home court.
Defending champion SDA sports a 5-2 record—good for third, while the WPS Terns are in second place with 5-1.
The Terns just came off a hard-earned win over SCS, also last Tuesday.
The other match-up in the junior varsity divisions will feature Mt. Carmel vs. SIS Green at the former’s home court.
In the high school division, the Eagles are also hoping to keep their winning streak intact.
The Eagles carry a 6-0 mark going in today’s game against Marianas Baptist Academy.
SIS Blue will host CCA, while MCS will square off with SIS Green at home.
GCA middle and high school coach Mark Robles hopes his players would not be overconfident despite going undefeated in the first round.
“We have to be consistent in our game. We still need to go to practice,” Robles said.
