For the third year in a row, Mobil Oil Marianas Inc. has agreed to fund a proposal by the Friends of the Marianas Inc. to conduct a drainage cleanup project on Saipan.

FMI president and chair Marites Aquino Castillo said that Mobil’s continued support of their organization’s efforts is testament to FMI’s demonstrated ability to carry out cleanup projects on Saipan in a rapid and efficient manner.

“The FMI is very grateful to Mobil for this continued support,” said Castillo.

The FMI project is located along Isa Drive, from Airport Road up to the Botanical Garden.

Beginning this weekend, FMI members will start cleaning all of the drainage areas connected to the Isla Drive, beginning from the Botanical Garden area.

“We ask the public to be extra vigilant in the Garden area and please watch out for the volunteers who are cleaning and clearing these areas of our island,” said Castillo.

All members of the public are invited to assist in the efforts this Sunday beginning at 8am at the Botanical Garden. (PR)
