MVA at Expat Show in Shanghai
The Marianas Visitors Authority, along with Century Tours and Tinian Dynasty, recently attended the 2008 Expat Show in Shaghai, China. The goal was to further explore one of the CNMI’s fastest growing visitor markets.
The Expat Show is a unique brand established by the World Events Agency in China. MVA attended the 2008 Expat Show Beijing, which proved to be a great success, prompting MVA to participate in the Expat Show in Shanghai. This gives MVA the opportunity to further display the beauty and attributes of the CNMI to the expatriate community in Shanghai and nearby cities.
Century Tours and Tinian Dynasty shared the MVA booth and took the opportunity to present their tour packages, accommodation facilities, and other services for potential CNMI visitors. Family packages and sports packages such as diving and golf are the most favorable activities for the expatriate community. Most of the visitors at the event also expressed that they prefer lots of relaxation during their vacation away from their busy city life as well as a safe U.S. destination, with very short travel time. Therefore, the CNMI is a very attractive destination for the expatriate living in China.
“We look forward to increased arrivals from China,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “The expatriate market is a potential niche market from China to the CNMI. The opportunity to participate at the Expat Show is a perfect place for us to showcase our islands in China.” (MVA)
