Seatbelt, child seat checkpoints set

The Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Section will be conducting seatbelt and child seat checkpoints tomorrow, Sept. 24, and on Friday, Sept. 26.
In tomorrow’s checkpoints, the first setup will be on Beach Road San Antonio by the basketball court across Bank of Guam. This will start around 9am and will end at about 10:15am.
The second setup will be on Beach Road Chalan Piao by Hopwood Junior High School, beginning at 7pm and ending at about 8:15pm.
On Friday, the first setup will be on Chalan Lau Lau by B&R Auto Shop, from 9am to 10:15am.
The second setup will be on Beach Road Susupe by the Minachom Atdao, across Ada Gym, and will last from 7pm until 8:15pm.
Each checkpoint conducted will last at least 75 minutes (one hour and 15 minutes) at each location. This activity is part of the department’s efforts to deter and detect impaired driving and to ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.
In addition, traffic officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser activities.
