Saipan Stevedore rules ‘Bowling Fun Day’
Saipan Stevedore topped the ‘Bowling Fun Day” organized by the Marianas Institute of Filipino CPAs and Accountants at the Capital Bowling Center in Garapan last Sunday.
Saipan Stevedore bested 13 other teams in the one-day tournament, which aimed to bring together members and non-members of the organization and promote camaraderie through sports.
More than 60 accountants and auditors from various companies on Saipan joined the tournament.
Saipan Stevedore took the championship after scoring 2,310 pinfalls. Members of the winning team were Christy Villaflor, Joy and Toti Limpin, Antonio Verdaguer, and Linda Yarobwenal. They went home with $250 cash.
In second place was Century Insurance Company, Ltd., which knocked down 1,984 pins, followed by Genoveva’s (1,963), J’s Restaurant (1,943), Deloitte & Touche (1,935), PTI (1,838), Eli (1,811), Shirley’s Coffee Shop (1,799), Traders Insurance (1,787), PT (1770), Century Finance Corp. (1,671), Ernst & Young (1,753), and Seabridge (1,587).
CIC was composed of team captain Rene Cariazo, Gerry De Guzman, Gary Ting, Macoi Aguda, and Carlito Bernabe and won $150.
Genoveva’s, which was captained by Tony David and had Robert Reyes, Danny Baddiles, Gigi Zapanta, and Malou Guzman as members, pocketed $100.
The Ronnel Calma-captained J’s Restaurant won $75. Other members of the team were Reena Trinidad, Miriam Cabading, Robert Perez, Nel Matanguihan, Donna Paleracio, and Yaro Buena.
Deloitte & Touche, which was led by captain Yho Villavicencio, pocketed $60. Joining Villavicencio on the team were Jerry Kaneshi, Mar Masilungan, Deo Manese, and Jeff Marling.
Individual top performances were also recognized in the tournament.
Villavicencio and Cariazo recorded the highest score in the CPA division with 200 and 199 pinfalls, respectively.
Vilavicencio also ruled the three-series score with 514, followed by Reyes (487) and Gerry De Guzman (478).
In the guest category, Jorge Soledad posted the highest individual score with 224 pinfalls.
