GCA Eagles soar high in HS volleyball
Grace Christian Academy’s junior varsity and high school teams remained undefeated after three playing dates in the ongoing 2008 Coalition of Private Schools Volleyball League.
The Eagles are soaring high in the junior varsity with 3-0 win-loss records.
This was after the Eagles pulled out a thrilling three-set victory at home turf yesterday over the visiting Whispering Palms School.
The Eagles clawed back from a first set loss before coming away with a 17-25, 25-11, 16-14 triumph that stunned WPS.
The Eagles also won their first two road victories over Saipan Community School on Sept. 9 and Saipan International School-Green on Sept. 11.
The Eagles will try to keep their momentum going when they visit Calvary Christian Academy tomorrow at 3:30pm.
In the high school division where they are the defending champions, the Eagles will also try to keep their record (2-0) clean when they face CCA tomorrow.
The Eagles won their first two games against SIS-Green and Marianas Baptist Academy on Sept. 12, and 13, respectively.
GCA coach Mark Robles was happy with the wins but he’s not yet fully satisfied with their performances.
He said they still need a lot of practice and they need good communication during the game.
