PTI bounces back as Auel Auel wins anew in Belau softball
PTI bounced back with a 12-8 victory over the Choll Aces last Sunday Sept. 7 to keep abreast with the early leaders in the men’s division of the 2008 Belau Amateur Softball Association softball league at the Dandan Elementary School ball Field.
With the win, PTI remained in solo third place with 6-2 as it rallied back from a 0-6 deficit on top of the second inning to beat the Choll Aces.
Six batters reached home plate in the bottom of the first to give the Choll Aces the early lead but PTI leveled the count at 6-6 on top of the second.
Then the Choll Aces scored two more runs in the fourth but PTI easily recovered again with three runs in the fifth and another three in the sixth for the win.
Choll Aces dropped to solo seventh place with 4-3 while PTI quickly recovered from a bitter 10-11 defeat to Auel Auel in the previous Sunday.
Auel Auel won anew, eking past Man Amigos, 7-6 that created a two-way tie on top.
Both Auel Auel and Brotherhood have 6-1 cards.
PIC scored the day’s biggest upset at the expense of Ready Mix, 9-4.
But despite the loss, Ready Mix still sports a better record with 4-2 in fifth spot while the victory improved PIC’s record of 4-4 in eighth.
The other game in the men’s division resulted to a forfeiture by a no-show Bombers’ team, giving Haga-T its first win of the 12-team field tournament.
The loss was the Bombers’ seventh in eight outings.
In the women’s division, Sakudi prevailed with a lopsided 12-2 win over Atu-Asi. No available record of team standings as of presstime.
