A Chinese man was charged in federal court Thursday with distributing methamphetamine or “ice.”

Ying Min Jin, 38, was charged with felony counts of distributing a controlled substance and distributing a controlled substance near a school or college on the island of Tinian.

Jin allegedly tried to sell 0.4 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential source.

The poker business where the transaction took place is located less than 1,000 feet from the Tinian Grace Christian Academy School, according to court documents.

District Court Judge Alex Munson denied bail and ordered Jin back into the custody of the U.S. Marshal. George Hasselback was appointed Jin’s attorney, and a preliminary hearing was set for Friday.
