‘Don’t Be A Turkey’ Walk on Nov. 15
The Saipan Walking Association, Inc., in collaboration with the CNMI Diabetes Coalition, will host the 9th Annual Thanksgiving “Don’t Be A Turkey” Walk on Nov. 15 along the Saipan Beach Pathway.

The walk traditionally begins at the Chamolinian Cultural Village in Garapan and takes participants along the flame tree-, coconut palm-, and ironwood tree-lined route of the Saipan Beach Pathway.

Like in the past, the 9th Annual Thanksgiving “Don’t Be A Turkey” Walk will again be sanctioned by IVV and as such SAIWAI and IVV members will receive credit for joining.

IVV has member walking clubs in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, the CNMI, and 29 other European countries, including Germany.

SAIWAI then puts a bookend to 2008 by staging its annual Christmas Walk in the Marianas on Dec. 20. Coinciding with the start of Christmas celebration in the Marianas, the walk starts at the Chamolinian Cultural Village and is again held in partnership with Friends of the Saipan Beach Pathway.
