PIC Horseshoe tourney set
The 2008 Pacific Islands Club Horseshoe Tournament returns for the ninth straight season when competition kicks off at 9am on Sept. 7 on the grounds of the San Antonio hotel.
The annual one-day tournament, which will award cash prizes to the Top 3 pairs, will follow a random draw, doubles-team and double-elimination bracket format.
The entrance fee for the tournament is $10 per person, which includes a one-day waterpark pass to all participants.
Two yeas ago, Irma Halaby and Nick Gross bested a record-setting field of 33 other pairs to win the 2006 edition.
Halaby and Gross breezed through the elimination round and the semifinals carrying over their momentum in the finals where they defeated the pair of Randy Steele and Skip Bull, 18-16.
They won $202 with the victory, while Steele and Bull settled for the $100 runner-up prize. Amanda Puleo and Pam Thorpe finished third bringing home $46 after a 12-10 loss to Steele and Bull.
