Another brick wall
Taotao Tano’s absence on the Aggreko bill has little or no effect even if we were present. A 12-6 vote passing of the legislation to grant CUC $4.5 million to $6 million by 12 members of the legislative branch is beyond realm and is proof that our homeland is being oppressed and mismanaged by our own elected leaders’ failure to understand the nature of corruption in our homeland. The decisions of the 12 members composed of veteran leaders both past and present is proof of total ignorance, neglect and disrespect for the people of the Commonwealth. Democracy demands that you listen and adhere to the will of the people and not their own.
Fast tracking such a questionable and uninvestigated Aggreko bill will be to the detriment of all consumers, because ultimately the consumers will see an increase in their electrical rates, reflecting Aggreko fuel surcharges. What many do not know and understand is that the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. does have a 15 megawatt power plant but due to mismanagement and corruption, we no longer have that option, for the entire six engines in Power Plant 2 have been cannibalized and used in Power Plant 1, totally abandoning our investment. We believe that someone has to be held responsible and accountable for such mishaps, mismanagement and corruption.
We are dismayed by the actions of these 12 members who voted yes to such a flawed and highly questionable sole-source contract without a full investigation into what happen to our engines in Power Plant 2. Another overnight decision by our illustrious 12 member panel and shame on them for this will be an additional burden to the consumers of the Commonwealth.
“Time has turned the clock backwards” and we are heading for another brick wall.
