Saipan to host Witnesses’ annual event
Jehovah’s Witnesses will host their annual convention at the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Gualo Rai beginning Friday, July 25, 2008, at 9:20am. The sessions will continue on Saturday and Sunday as well.
The 2008 “Guided by God’s Spirit” District Convention is open to the public. Admission to the convention is free, and no collections will be taken. The program will focus on why reliable guidance is needed today and where people can turn to for trustworthy advice in all aspects of life.
Witnesses who are associated within the islands of Rota, Tinian , and Saipan congregations anticipate an excellent turnout for the event in view of the enthusiastic response to last year’s convention, which had the theme “Follow the Christ!” Witnesses also look forward to welcoming many non-Witnesses to the convention. Witnesses believe that all who attend will benefit from the practical information presented.
In the CNMI, Guam, and Micronesia there will be 10 conventions this summer. Worldwide, there are nearly 7,000,000 Witnesses in over 101,000 congregations. In 2007, more than 12 million people attended over 3,200 of the Witnesses’ conventions around the world. (PR)
