The Rotary Club of Saipan will host its annual fundraising event, “Las Vegas Night,” tonight from 7pm to midnight at Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall.

The event will feature Blackjack, Roulette tables, Craps, Texas Hold ‘Em poker, and kina.

The grand prize winner will have a choice of $10,000 cash prize or a brand-new car. This year’s prizes are $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 for first, second and third places. Fourth and fifth place winners will each receive $500.

Tickets are available at the door for $5, with the special promotion of $20 for a bundle of five tickets.

The funds raised will go to several Rotary projects, including the Baby Care Project, the Skate Park Project in September, the Kagman Community Park Children’s Playground in October and the Parade of Books next March.

The Saipan Rotary Club aims to raise $35,000 from ticket sales and other fund-generating sources within the event. After all the deductions, such as the prizes and other expenses, the club still hope to reach its target of $15,000, said Rotary Club secretary Nel Matanguihan.

Door prizes will be offered, but participants must be present to win. Presence is not a requirement for the raffle of cash prizes.

The presentation of prizes will be held at a later date, and winners will be contacted after the event.

Participants must be 18 or older to gamble, but attendees of any age may participate in the raffle.

“Last year, over 300 came. This year, the place can only accommodate 400 people, [so] we are aiming for the same number,” said Rotary Club president Ben Babauta.
