Palau President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. will be visiting Saipan tomorrow, July 12, and wants to meet with all Palauans residing in the CNMI.

The meeting will be held at the Carolinian Utt on Saipan, from 6pm to 10pm.

Remengesau is due to arrive Saturday morning from Palau and will leave Saipan Sunday morning for Guam, where he is also due to meet with Palauan citizens residing in the territory.

Consul Eileen N. Kintol declined to specify the reason for Remengesau’s trip to the islands, besides saying that this is probably part of the president’s regular visits to his constituents.

The last time the Palauan president visited the Commonwealth was in November 2007, during the 8th Western Micronesian Chief Executive Summit.

During that visit, Remengesau also led the groundbreaking ceremony for the “abai”—or community hall—that is being built on the 5,000 square meters of land on Navy Hill that was donated by the CNMI government to the Palauan community.
