Ladera International School of Saipan closed its first summer session with nearly a hundred students from first to 10th grade availing of free classes in math, science, and English.

LISS director Wayne Pangelinan said the summer session participants included 71 local children and 17 dormitory students from Korea.

The children from the local community were able to enjoy approximately $60,000 worth of free education at LISS, said Pangelinan. “These kids were not charged any tuition, as if in full scholarship with the school,” he said. “This is a way for LISS to give back to the community.”

On July 3, LISS will hold its science camp display, poet competition, and performances of local cultural dance groups. From 9am to 2pm, activities, food and drinks will be available for everyone’s enjoyment.

“We invite the public to come and see what LISS offers to the community. Ranging from the academic aspects of competition to pure family enjoyment, this day will also celebrate the closing of our first session summer program and awards and certificates will be presented to our outgoing students,” Pangelinan said. (LISS)
