San Vicente area to suffer four-hour outage
Some areas in San Vicente will experience a four-hour outage when the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. begins maintenance work on the electrical grid this Monday.
CUC acting power division manager Gary P. Camacho said the areas affected are Kamma Place, Hook Lane, Parasail Place, Batu Place, Gabba Place, and Hudda Drive.
To ensure safety for the power division’s line crew, the work will require a scheduled power outage from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
“This is in addition to the June 28 through July 4, 2008 scheduled load shedding,” Camacho said.
The acting manager said maintenance work is needed to replace many of the aged and deteriorating electrical distribution hardware materials on the power poles.
Camacho said the maintenance is to ensure safety and to have a more reliable and efficient electrical system.
He appealed for the community’s understanding for this additional inconvenience.
The June 28 to July 4 lead shedding schedule will be implemented from 8am to 10pm. Next week’s rotating outage schedule did not mention that San Vicente will be affected.
But CUC stated that San Vicente may be affected in the load shedding schedule should the power supply is not sufficient.
