Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s Home Boyz and Joe’s Steakhouse’s Fotten Palau both hold loose grips on first place of their respective divisions in the Saipan Billiards Association’s 2012 Budweiser Summer/Fall Open 8-Ball League after last week’s games.

The Home Boyz downed Poseidon’s Yang-Ku (70-100), 13-4, on the road in an inter-league play to improve its overall record to 131-39.

The win put the Home Boyz in first place atop the Agingan division as its rival, IT&E Voyagers, managed only a 10-7 home victory over Fotten Palau last Tuesday. The defending champion IT&E Voyagers dropped to second place in the standings last week.

In other Agingan results, the New Saipan Aluminum Hustlers (118-52) skunked Obyan-bottom feeder The Water Front (30-132), 17-0, at home; and Joe’s Ocean Warriors (89-81) pummeled Bammy’s Restaurant Bar & Grill’s Boom-Boom (39-131), 15-2, in an inter-league home match. IT&E Incredibles’ (110-60) also played an inter-league match against 19th Hole Bar’s Poksu (55-115), but results were unavailable at press time.

In the Obyan division, Fotten Palau (86-84) still holds the top spot by a hair over Jonny’s Crazy 8 (85-85), which outlasted the 19th Hole Bar’s third-ranked Titans (83-87), 9-8, on the road.

In other results, Jonny’s Team SCS (81-89) pulled out a close 9-8 victory over fifth-ranked Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill’s Shark Attack (76-94) to remain a threat in the field with its fourth place.
