Workshop for Rota ranchers, farmers

The Cooperative Research, Education, and Extension Service, under NMC’s Community Programs & Services Unit, will be conducting a workshop on neem tree production for alternative pesticides, nematode control and fertilizer workshop/field day.

The workshop is in cooperation with WSARE Rota Farmer Rancher 2007-2008 Granted Project On Organic Farming. All farmers, growers and anyone interested may attend this workshop/field day on May 19, 8:30am-4:30pm, at the NMC Rota Campus, Room B-2 and Frank Atalig’s Research Farm in Ginalangan.

Presenters and topics include:

-Organic Farming

–Gadi V.P. Reddy PhD, entomologist/chemical ecologist. Western Pacific Tropical Research Center University of Guam, UOG Station.

-Insect Pests in the CNMI

–Dr. Joaquin Tenorio, Entomologist, NMC-CREES

-Grant Project Methodology/Testimony

–Frank Atalig, WSARE Grant Producer, Sinapalo, Rota

-WSARE Grants

–Allan Sabaldica DVM, WSARE CNMI coordinator, NMC-CREES

-Field Trip

–Research Site, Ginalangan Area
