The Northern Mariana Islands Triathlon Federation has lined up several events to help their members warm up in time for the 9th Turquoise Blue Triathlon & Reef Swim in Tinian next month.

The fun starts on Sunday with the return of the early morning Fun Ride. The event starts at 6am with the Micro Beach Pavilion near Hyatt Regency Saipan inside the American Memorial Park as the meeting place.

NMITF president Russ Quinn also scheduled a night ride on the same day, with the event starting at 7pm with the upper parking lot of the Palms Resort Saipan, formerly Hotel Nikko, as the meeting place.

The Sunday Night Ride is for mountain bikes only and lights are also needed for the event.

Quinn is also planning to hold a “Happy Hour” Triathlon next weekend where he would like to combine the spirit of a workout and social event.

NMITF members are also preparing to join the May 31 Hyatt Regency Saipan-Marianas Visitors Authority Mountain Bike Ride. Details of the Hyatt-MVA race will come out soon.

On June 14, local triathletes will compete against their visiting Japanese counterparts for the 9th Turquoise Blue Triathlon & Reef Swim. Teams are allowed for the Tinian Triathlon.

Other events to be held by NMITF for the year are having a sports yoga class and a bike maintenance clinic.
