The Isla Financial Service, Inc. donated $5,000 worth of educational tax credit to Dandan Elementary School and San Vicente Elementary School.

Each school received $2,500 to purchase instructional materials and supplies in preparation for the opening of the school year 2008-2009.

DES principal Jonas M. Barcinas said with the economic crisis the CNMI is experiencing today, “such assistance will help us meet the demand and needs of the school. We will be creative and discrete on the priorities that we may need to address at the school.”

Both schools have shared their gratitude towards the number of businesses in the community to graciously be helpful in donating their BGRT to the Public School System.

Recently, Sorensen Media donated their educational tax credit to Hopwood Junior High School and has made it a promise to donate future educational tax credits to public schools in the CNMI.

Barcinas said the “Tottot Family” wishes to extend their most sincere appreciation to the Isla Financial staff and its general manager Anne D. Castro for helping DES “at a time like this.”
