Police arrested a 53-year-old man who allegedly attempted to rape his 55-year-old sister-in-law and assaulted her at her residence in Kagman on Thursday night.
Robostiano Rull Matsutaro was arrested yesterday morning at his residence in Kagman 3 for attempted rape, disturbing the peace, and assault and battery.
Superior Court associate judge Joseph James Norita Camacho imposed a $26,250 cash bail for Matsutaro’s temporary release.
Detective Raymond Borja, who took the witness stand, said that police officers responded to the victim’s residence in Kagman after receiving a call about the attempted rape on Thursday at 11:06pm.
Preliminary investigation showed that the victim told responding officers that her brother-in-law, Matsutaro, attempted to rape her and assaulted her in the process. The victim reportedly had bruises and scratches on her thighs.
The victim told police that she was in bed when a man she later identified as Matsutaro sat on top of her and tried to rape her. The victim struggled, shouted, and screamed. Matsutaro ran outside and fled on his car.
