Veteran grapplers will be featured in the main event of Saturday’s Art of War II All Island Grappling/Submission Tournament to be held Trench Tech Purebred Saipan Gym’s new facility in San Antonio.

The tournament will start at 10am and will run up to 5pm. Food and drinks will be on sale to all fans.

Trench Tech’s Tetsuji Kato will face Luis “The Shredder” Blanco in the superfight while Fokai International’s Roman Dela Cruz will go up against Gabe Baker of Carlson Gracie Academy in the Superduper match.

A lot of no gi matches are also at stake the whole day. Matches are not full contact. Punching and kicking are not allowed.

Jujitsu practitioners wear the gi or kimono, as it is traditionally called, during a match. The gi can be used as leverage or a weapon against your opponent in trying to force him to submission by choking.

Interested competitors can still register anytime before today at the Trench Tech gym from 5pm to 8pm. The entrance fee is $20 per player.

Tickets have been on sale since the last week of April for the all-island grappling and submission challenge. Trench Tech’s new gym is located at the back of the Labor and Immigration building in San Antonio.

Tickets are also available at Boarderline, Trench Tech Gym, and 670 Rock Steady Shop for only $5.

All Trench Tech events will now be held at Trench Tech’s new gym at Afetnas Square in San Antonio, which is an airconditioned 15,708-sq.-ft. facility that has a seating capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 fans.

After the Art of War II, the next MMA event by Alvarez is Trench Warz VIII in June.
