To report violations of DFW regs, call hotlines
The DFW Enforcement Officers now have hotline numbers that the public can call from Rota, Tinian and Saipan to report illegal fishing or hunting activities.
The two hotline numbers are 888-4917 and 888-4970.
On Rota and Tinian there may be limited coverage, but there should be some coverage. The Enforcement’s main office number, 664-6030, can also be accessed from any island.
The DFW Enforcement Hotline should be used when it is believed there is a violation of DFW regulations, such as fishing or hunting without a permit or out of season or in a terrestrial or marine conservation area on any island; also, if there is harm being done to a terrestrial protected area, such as setting fires, or inappropriate anchoring in a marine area.
The Saipan Enforcement Officers from the main DFW Office are tasked with enforcing all DFW regulations on all islands, so do not hesitate to call them from any island.
You can really help increase the enforcement capability by:
1. Calling immediately
2. Taking down boat registration numbers or vehicle license numbers and/or description of vehicles. All information may be important.
