Job placement program

After reading what the mayor of Tinian said, that his preference is job referral rather than job fair events, I think the mayor has a cloudy understanding on what is best to do on this. Let the mayor of Tinian know that an effective job placement program would ensure that qualified and deserving applicants could be matched with positions being offered by employers on Tinian. This job placement mandates would include returning scholarship recipients or qualified returning residents who are seeking employment and livelihood on Tinian.

After Tinian launches a successful job placement program, other government offices involved with scholarship or educational assistance programs in the NMI could emulate and follow the lead by placing qualified employees in available and suitable jobs in the private and public sectors.

You do not need to create a position for this purpose. What is required is assigning this job responsibility to a competent employee in the human resources department of the mayor’s office. Like the old saying, “Walk the walk, and talk the talk, and all would be in a level playing field.”

When we all come to our senses on this, we can breath a sign of relief because a successful job placement program is the panacea to placing qualified indigenous people in jobs now being held by nonresident contract workers here in the NMI. This could be done, but let the mayor of Tinian be the leader of the pack on this.
