[B]SGA May Ace this Sunday[/B]
The Saipan Golf Association will hold its May Ace of the Month Tournament this Sunday, May 4, at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort west course. Check-in time for the club’s fourth monthly competition of the year is 8:30am. Veteran golfers Mariano Fajardo, Joe Sablan, homerun menace Ned Norita, and last year’s annual champion Larry Deleon Guerrero have bragging rights for the first four months of SGA’s season as they secured the January, February, March, and April Ace titles, respectively. Slots are available for 24 players and SGA said first players to show up early, will definitely be the first to roll the grounds. Loyola summer tennis meet on May 3[/B]
The 2008 season of the Loyola Tennis Tournament returns this May at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan courts. The tournament will be held on May 3 and 4 and on May 10 and 11 when singles matches will be held for kids and adults. Singles matches in the 13- and 9-and-under age divisions will be held on May 3 and 4 while on May 10 and 11 it will be the adults’ turn to take the court. Last year, Elnathan Wong defeated Kevin Rhee to win the 9-and-under division, while Chris Park ruled the 13-and-under class by beating Kennedy Izuka. Lydia Tan led the women’s winners when he topped the A class after beating Karen Ramsey. Class B defending champion was Yuri Hatamata when she defeated Sarah Yap in the finals.
