Fifteen bikers won their respective divisions in the Jazy Cup Tour de Marianas Cycling Road Race Series last April 13 around Saipan.

The Saipan leg was the first stage of the two-stage cycling race series that ends on Guam next week. The final stage will have two parts—a time trial on May 3 from Adelup and back and a road race on May 4 from Agana Shopping Center and back.

The Saipan leg was divided into an expert, composed of two loops around the island, and a short course of one lap around Beach Road.

Matthew Mancao topped the junior expert class with Eli Torgeson leading the way in the submaster category. Butch Sublemente and Bobby Mandapat placed second and third to Torgeson.

Joseph Husslein and Cesar Fortaleza were the Top 2 finishers in the Master category, while Renato Calage, who was part of a team that won the relay division in last month’s XTERRA Saipan and Tagaman triathlons, bested David Mair and Manny Sitchon in the Senior division.

Chiyo Lombard was the lone female that joined the expert class.

Brian Tsuji won the short course junior division with Arvin Hubalde and Tamo Nishikido finishing 1-2 in the submaster class.

In the mountain bike division, Albart Cataina was the winner in the submaster while Philip Gaulung, Shogo Ando, and Erwin Aquino conquered the master class.

Willy Barbo, Fred Camacho, and Joshua Berger were the finishers in the senior division, while Kimiko Hasegawa (submaster) and Gayle Martin (senior) were the female finishers in the short course.

Jeffrey Dyco and Gary Bandoja finished the male short course’s mountain bike division, while Cenon San Pablo, Larry Malig, and Bernard Laborce were the Top 3 finishers in the master category.

Rogelio Valdez was the senior division winner in the mountain bike.

Jazy Cup organizers thanked all the bikers, sponsors, and volunteers that helped them in the race. Take Care, Mair, Mair, Spade & Thompson, Tan Holdings, and MR Imaging Group sponsored the race

Organizers also thanked volunteers, Alex Gozon and family, Ronald Villafria, Romy Lanuza, John Sobredo, Atty. Danny Aguilar, Rosel Torres, Oscar San Agustin, and all Saipan bikers.
