A former baseball coach pleaded guilty yesterday to charges that he sexually abused and assaulted two minors.

Ramon Camacho San Nicolas, 41, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree and one count of sexual assault in the second degree.

Superior Court Associate Judge David Wiseman accepted San Nicolas’ guilty plea and set the sentencing for July 10, 2008, at 9:30am.

Wiseman directed the Adult Probation Office to prepare a pre-sentence investigation report.

The Attorney General’s Office filed in June 2006 an information charging the defendant with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree and two counts of sexual assault in the second degree.

San Nicolas and counsel Herbert D. Soll signed a plea agreement with the government, represented by assistant attorney general Rebecca Warfield.

According to the plea agreement, San Nicolas will be sentenced to a maximum of eight years in prison and a maximum $50,000 fine.

The court will determine the term of imprisonment within that range.

The factual basis of the plea agreement stated that on May 31, 2006, San Nicolas, at that time 39 years old, molested a 12-year-old boy. In May 2006, the defendant also molested another 12-year-old boy.
