MVA holds roadshow in Korea
The Marianas Visitors Authority recently returned from the Marianas Road Show in Busan and Daegu, Korea. The purpose of the trip was to continue to support and promote the Busan-Saipan flight. The tour was hosted by MVA and Hana Tour.
A total of 160 travel agents participated in the show. MVA laid out the support plan for the Youngnam region, which is the second largest region in Korea behind Seoul, which is the leading market. The plan includes expanded volume incentive promotions, bus shelter advertising, consumer promotion plans targeting family travelers and trade FAM’s for travel agents with good sales performance.
This event consisted of three sessions including MVA Korea’s introduction of the CNMI, a brief presentation from six participating hotels and a luncheon with a lucky draw raffle.
Asiana Airlines sponsored one round-trip ticket (Busan-Saipan-Busan) for the prize and the hotels provided accommodation vouchers. The participating hotels were Aqua Resort Club, Mariana Resort & Spa, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Pacific Islands Club Saipan and Saipan World Resort.
“Korea continues to be our number two source market and has shown consistent monthly growth,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “The Marianas Roadshow allowed us to continue to promote the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota to travel agents which play a very important role in the outbound Korea market.” (MVA)
