Man allegedly threatens ex-wife with machete
Police arrested on Monday a man who allegedly threatened to kill his former common-law wife with a machete at her residence in Kagman III.
Aspiner S. Epina, 38, was arrested for assault and disturbing the peace.
A $1,000 cash bail was initially imposed for Epina’s temporary liberty. He was taken to the Superior Court yesterday afternoon for a bail hearing.
Police learned that on Monday at 6am, Epina arrived at the house of his former common-law wife and started shouting. He was allegedly armed with a machete.
The suspect then went inside the house and asked the victim where she was “last night.”
In fear, the victim ran to the other room as her adult son came out and managed to get Epina out from the house.
The suspect continued shouting at the victim, then left.
Earlier that day, the victim said that Epina also went to her house, looking for her. When the victim returned, her minor daughter informed her that Epina checked her and threatened he would kill her and whoever she is having a relationship with now.
On Tuesday morning, the victim sought police help. Police arrested Epina at his present residence in Kagman III later that day.
