Open house at Sandy Beach Homes for Section 8
Sandy Beach Homes, the newest residential rental complex in Saipan, will hold a special open house for Section 8 housing allowance voucher holders tomorrow, Nov. 19, from 8am to 12pm.
Visitors should park at the designated parking area south of the former Pacific Gardenia Hotel and follow the signs to the model home on the second floor.
Construction on the six-story, 60-unit project is scheduled for completion next month and will be open for occupancy on Jan. 1, 2012, to applicants who meet income and other eligibility requirements.
“We want to make clear that Sandy Beach Homes, itself, cannot issue Section 8 vouchers, but we expect to pass inspection in December and become a certified housing provider for families who already have vouchers,” said Bob Jones, managing partner of Sandy Beach Homes. “Our open house will give these families a chance to see if they would like to become a part of our Sandy Beach community.”
The Sandy Beach Homes complex sits in the heart of Chalan Kanoa, with several stores, banks, schools, churches and the main post office located within walking distance. The opportunity to stay at Sandy Beach Homes is open to all legal CNMI residents, including non-U.S. citizens and non-Section 8 recipients, as long as income and other eligibility requirements are met. Families or unrelated individuals may apply as a household.
“We have high standards for our residents, with community rules and regulations that must be followed,” said Jones. “Our goal is to provide all our residents with a safe, secure, and comfortable community, where they can live in a nice home while they work at improving their lives.”
Each of the homes has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, washer/dryer, A/C, insulated double-paned windows, water purification system, solar water heater, and ceiling fans in every room. The refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher are Energy Star rated. Additional amenities include a balcony overlooking Saipan’s western lagoon, a parking garage, typhoon shutters, and security cameras. The facility also includes backup generator and water supply. Four ADA units will also be available.
