Mixed Blood Shooters 2, Oh! MG lead SEDA winners

D’Pirates Choice Bar’s Mixed Blood Shooters 2 and Naked Fish Bar & Grill’s Oh! MG came away as the Saipan Electronic Dart Association’s 2011 Summer/Fall Bud-Light Cup champions in the Tuesday B-League and C division groupings.
Mixed Blood 2 came into the tournament ranked seventh of a field of 10, but pulled out an 8-1 stunner over Strike Force at Jonny’s Bar & Grill on January 3 to top the event.
Oh! MG came into SEDA’s C division event as the fifth seed and took out ninth-ranked World-C, 8-2.
Mixed Blood 2 is made up of Roderick Osorio, Manding Legaspi, Bernard Paras, Mario Espinoza, Frank Codog, and Ermin Nufable.
Mixed Blood advanced past No.4 GCC Carpeters in the first round and knocked off top- ranked D’Pirates’ Sabalu Boys before vanquishing No.5 Es’y Kitchen’s Shawarma Boys leading up to its big finish.
No. 7 Strike Force infiltrated the tournament under the radar and received a first round bye before cutting through No.8 Ombre Za and No.9 VFW Post 3457’s Assashunz but was picked off by Mixed Blood 2.
In the finals, Mixed Blood 2 swept both 501 matches, three of four crazy cricket games, both 701 games, and clinched the match after a pair of single baseball pairings.
In the C division, Oh! MG drew a first round bye and defeated No. 6 D’Pirates Lucky Shot and then upset the No. 4 Sparks en route to the finals.
Notably, the C division favorite, Sand’s Bar’s Anies Imuza, was ousted in the first round by second-ranked VFW Post 3457’s Oneshot, while the No. 3 Sparks upset D’Pirates Yotsketeh Boys in round one and stunned One Shot for a valiant push into the semifinals.
In the finals, Oh! MG swept both 501 games, three of four crazy cricket matches, a game of 701, a secured the title after three straight singles baseball wins. Oh! MG members include Jarick Atalig, Donovan P. Castro, Carol Chargualaf, Pasqual Guerrero, Arisa S. Peters, Angela Santos, Nick Rabauliman and Andy Golden.
Meanwhile, D’Pirates’ Mixed Blood Shooters 1 pulled off a sweep in the A division with a 9-4 victory over the fifth-ranked Proofers. The champion team is made up of Romy Intendez, Joshua Wodson, Dean Borja, Mario Jumalon, Mario Espinoza, and Rolly Morales.
The group went through division runners-up D-Pirates’ Bud Brothers and No.4 Celebrity before capping off its fruitful season. Before the finals, the Proofers advanced past the No. 6 Primos and the No. 7 Trouble Shooters of Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill.
In the finals, Mixed Blood 1 swept both opening games of wild cricket, took three of four singles baseball matches, a game of cutthroat, both 701 contests, and clinched the win with three consecutive singles cricket victories.
The SEDA awards banquet is scheduled to take place at 10:30am on Jan. 22 at the Charley’s Cabaret of the Pacific Islands Club.
