IT&E Voyagers, Shark Attack remain in front

(Contributed Photo) Jonny’s IT&E Voyagers and Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill’s Shark Attack are still riding the wave in first place of the Saipan Billiards Association’s 2011 Budweiser Summer/Fall Open 8-Ball League’s Agingan and Obyan fields after the conclusion of Tuesday’s matchups.

Both teams have been in control of their respective divisions for the majority of the season.

IT&E Voyagers downed sister-team IT&E Incredibles, 6-1, at home to improve their win-loss record to 60-17.

IT&E Voyagers are soaring above the field with a 12-game margin.

IT&E Incredibles remains in second place after the hit, but fell to a slate of 48-29.

Third-ranked Docomo Hustlers of Utopia Bar (43-34) shut out VFW Post 3457’s X-Tream (21-56), 7-0, on the road to pull within five games of the runner-up spot.

Jonny’s Home Boyz Five (42-35) went into Joe’s Steakhouse and defeated Fotten Palau (17-60), 5-2.

IT&E Voyagers’ Roman Rodriguez and Rolly Villanueva and Docomo Hustlers’ Senen Pangelinan all ran the rack three times, while X-Tream’s Joseph Achas has sunk the eight ball off the break twice.

In Obyan play, Shark Attack edged out Jonny’s Crazy 8, 4-3, at home to improve its card to 50-27. Crazy 8 fell to a record of 36-41.

Shark Attack enjoys a nine-game lead over D’Pirates Bar & Grill’s Pirata, who snuck past Jonny’s Team SCS (38-39), 4-3, on the road.

19th Hole Bar’s Poksu (39-38) bested sister-team Titans (27-50), 4-3, in a road draw.

Team SCS’s Erwin Gomez and Crazy 8’s Rey Pinangay ran the rack a league-leading three times, while Crazy 8’s Zaldy Quebral sunk the eight ball off the break once.

Next Tuesday, Agingan’s IT&E Voyagers play host to Home Boyz Five, the Docomo Hustlers welcome Fotten Palau, and the IT&E Incredibles calls over X-tream.

Meanwhile, Obyan’s Team SCS visits Crazy 8, Poksu invites Shark Attack, and Pirata greets the Titans.
