This weekend’s Saipan Major League Baseball Association/CNMI National Baseball team’s fundraiser softball tournament has been pushed back to Nov. 23, 25, and 26 at the Capitol Hill Ballfield.

The reason for the postponement was a lack of teams.

The purpose of the event is to help defray both some of SML’s operational costs and to help pay for outstanding obligations the CNMI gold medal team incurred from the 2011 Pacific Games.

Organizers are hoping for at least 10 teams to participate in the event; slots are still available.

The entrance fee to participate is set at $100; checks are to be made out to the SMLBA.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Additional information can be obtained through any CNMI national team player, namely Manny Sablan, or by contacting CNMI team manager and SMLBA president Tony Rogolifoi at 288-5426.
